I am not one for remember when but I fondly recall the mid-90s boarding a flight to LA with a suitcase of samples, a fistful of magazine tears and a rudemantary layout scratched in a notebook.

In an analogue age, I designing every shot through the lens and without Photoshop, pushing set design, perspective and optics to the then limits.

From an early age, so many people have helped me along the way with support and encouragement. It is a debt that I have tried to repay to emerging creatives in recent years. I remember the early excitement, creative possibilities, and kindness of people like Brian Monahan, Esther Clerehan, Mick Ivory and Keran Woods, and then so many more that followed.
In 1986 I wrote a letter to David Ogilvy, who to my surprise, returned this note. It remains on my desk to this day.
